The LFRA 2019 QLD Forum will be held over two days; Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd, May.

Tuesday 21st May – QLD Study Tour & Pre Forum Dinner

We will start with an all-day ‘members only’ Study Tour of Homemaker Centres and Large Format Retail Precincts around the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane region.

Members who register to participate in the Study Tour can choose to join the Study Tour from the Calile Hotel, Fortitude Valley at 7.45 am for an 8.00 am sharp departure, or 9.30 am at the Harvey Norman Maroochydore Centre.  The Study Tour will work back to Brisbane with the last location for the day being the Homemaker, The Valley after which delegates will have time to explore the James Street precinct on the way back to the Calile Hotel.

‘members only’ Pre-Forum Dinner will be held at Hellenika Restaurant at the Calile Hotel and will commence at 7.30 pm around the pool area.

Wednesday 22nd May –  Forum

As part of the Agenda we will conduct two panel discussions where key perspectives of the current state of the market will be discussed by firstly Retail members and then by notable service providers to the Large Format Retail sector.

We are delighted to have as our guest presenters, Ingrid Richards and Adrian Spence of Richards & Spence Architects who designed the Calile Hotel. The session will be moderated by Marie-Louise Thiele, Creative Director, James Street Initiative, who will also provide a glimpse of the fascinating story behind the James Street Precinct project.

Phil Schoutrop, Director and Principal, Buchan will give an outline of the 2019 LFRA Overseas Study Tour to the head office of IKEA, Ahmult, Sweden; Copenhagen and London. Phil will also present a perspective on ‘Our Learnings of the Past and what we can Learn from Future Tours‘.

David Krolikowski, Director, KHQ Lawyers will give an insightful presentation titled ‘Dealing with the Spectre of Asbestos in your Premises‘ and David Robbins, Principal Solicitor, KHQ Lawyers will present  ‘Concerted Practices: What They Are and What You Should Know About Them’.

During our Getting to Know our Members Session, we will warmly welcome Travis Erridge, Director, TM Insight.

We will also welcome back Craig Woolford, Head of Research, Australia and New Zealand, Citi who will present the ‘Large Format Retail Sales Report.’
